Local residents of over 30 years, the Bajracharya family anxiously awaited any news of their family and friends whilst witnessing the dramatic images unfolding on TV. With some damage to their family homes and no major injuries to report, the family counts themselves lucky at a time when many of their people have lost so much. Disbelief and sadness has has given way to determination and purpose!
Surya, Grit, Kate, Ananta, Anusha, Pema, Snow and the Karunas' are appealing to the community of Braidwood to give what they can to those affected by this terrible natural disaster. Red Cross donation boxes will be available at the Bendigo Community Bank and various locations around town, with students from both schools already suggesting no uniform days to help raise money as well.
A fundraising event with music, art and food is being planned in the coming weeks so please contact Karuna on 0415030221 if you'd like to be involved in any way? Deepest thanks from the Bajracharya family!
