Braidwood Lions Club has raised more than $20,000 for community projects and causes during 2015/16.
What a great response from the local community!
More than 85 per cent ... has been shared in the Braidwood district.
While Braidwood Lions support some broader national programs, the vast majority of funds raised is distributed to local needy causes.
More than 85 per cent of monies raised in the past 12 months – from Lions wood raffles, monthly market barbecues, Antique Fair, Billy Cart Derby, 200 Club and so on – has been shared in the Braidwood district.
Key recipients in the past year have included the Braidwood Multi-Purposes Service, Braidwood Pre-School, St Bede’s Primary , Braidwood Central, Braidwood & District Education Foundation, St Vincent de Paul Society, Braidwood Life Centre, Braidwood Dance Studio, Braidwood Radio Station, and various sponsorships.
In addition to distributing funds, Lions also manages distribution from the Kirk Family Foundation, which provides funding support for disadvantaged youth in the district. More than $8000 was distributed under this Foundation in the past year.
Braidwood Lions Club members warmly thank the community for ready and generous support.
