The council is pleased with more than 30 applications for staffing the Braidwood, Bungendore and Captains Flat pools over summer: interviews are in coming weeks. A survey and meetings have given excellent feedback on preferred opening hours. Ongoing rain has delayed maintenance works, but staff are optimistic works can be done in time.
I was pleased to attend the general meeting of the Womboin Residents Association last week. Discussion also centred on local matters including greenways, roads, the kangaroo issue, priority projects and the Stronger Communities Fund.
The council has received more than 70 applicants for the Stronger Communities Fund, from sporting groups, children’s services and community associations. The fund assessment panel will now consider them.
Declutter garages, storage units and sheds of unwanted treasures for the national Garage Sale Trail. More than 70 sales have registered in the QPRC area for Saturday, October 22.
