This Saturday, October 15, Braidwood hosts series three of the Brumbies Women’s Super 7s Rugby.
In the towns where the series has already played, this competition, which includes under 16s and under 14s girls divisions, has proved very popular.
The series started in Jindabyne two weekends ago, then moved to Goulburn’s Poidevin Oval and Trinity Catholic College. Now it is Braidwood’s turn.
The Braidwood leg of the Brumbies Women’s Super 7s Rugby starts at 9am at the Braidwood Recreation Ground on Keder Street.
Teams competing in the open women’s include: Braidwood Black Widows, Goulburn, Marlins, Royals, ADFA, Gungahlin, Southern Inland, Vikings and Tumut. The under 16s and under 14s girls including a couple of South Coast sides.
This is a learning experience for many players who are new to Super 7s.
The Black Widows have proven they are very competitive and what they lack in experience they make up for with enthusiasm. Two of the Black Widows,Tamika Morgan and Courtney Doyle, have been named in the Brumbies Women’s 7 Representative Squad.
On Saturday, full canteen facilities will be available all day and the bar will open from 1pm. For information on Braidwood Redbacks Rugby see braidwoodredbacksrugby.org or call Nick on 0488 519 284.
