On Wednesday May 18, 2011, Braidwood Times reported that:
- Pete Harrison was the front-runner of the Palerang Council Election, receiving 35.8% of first preference votes on election night
- New local policeman John joined bowlers at the Braidwood MPS as the ‘celebrity player’
- Palerang Council proposed to merge the town water and sewer funds from Braidwood, Bungendore and Captains Flat by 2011/12
- Gill Burke provided an opinion piece about the “next wave of gold rushes”
- The new Member for Monaro John Barilaro launched his ‘Touring Office’ program to meet with community and business leaders in Bungendore and Braidwood
- Schute Bell Badgery Lumby Livestock Braidwood and Elders Ltd Goulburn had held their inaugural Special Weaner and Grown Cattle Sale the previous Friday, where they yarded approximately 1400 quality cattle
- The Batemans Bay Boars beat the Redbacks 39-9
