Last week councillors held a workshop to be updated on the revised concepts plan for Ryrie Park and Wallace Street in Braidwood and the progress made on the improvements in Bungendore.
The plans for Braidwood will be in a report to the February Council meeting in order to be placed on public exhibition.
In Ryrie Park, the plans include facilities and play equipment for all abilities, while maintaining open parkland for festivals and markets.
A report on the community’s views for a separate location for a skate park in Braidwood, which is currently out for public comment, will also be presented to the February meeting.
We are seeking public comment on plans for landscape upgrades along Bungendore Road, between the Yass Road roundabout and the Queens Bridge in Queanbeyan.
We are also after the Braidwood community’s feedback on possible locations for a skate park in Braidwood.
In Bungendore, work is continuing to install new seating, bin enclosures and way finding signage.
Staff are working with the business community and artists in Bungendore to design art installations on the bin enclosures.
As part of this project, the work completed already includes footpaths around the town centre, tree planting and updated landscaping at the central roundabout.
We are only a couple of weeks away from a big weekend of events, with the performance of the Canberra Symphony
Orchestra at Queen Elizabeth II Park on Saturday 3 March followed the very next day with Queanbeyan’s Multicultural Festival at Queanbeyan Park on Sunday March 4. Find all the details on Council’s website: www.qprc.nsw.gov.au.
