Shortly after the bushfire at Tathra this weekend, Ms Davis was chatting to her sister, a wildlife career with South Coast Wildlife Rescue.

She realised, when people think about the bushfire, they quite rightly focus on the needs of people. That doesn’t mean however, says Ms Davis, that animals need be forgotten.
So she offered to bring donations for wildlife care from Braidwood and surrounds down to her sister.
A few Facebook posts later, and Ms Davis has been inundated with goods suitable for both animals and humans.
One woman in Sydney even heard about it, and has offered to post down spare syringes, cleaning solution and bandages from the pathology lab where she works.
“It’s fantastic, everybody’s been so good,” Ms Davis said.
“I was surprised actually, I thought ‘if I can get a couple of boxes of stuff, fantastic,’ but I think my car’s going to be full.”
She decided if she was doing a collection for animals, she may as well collect for the people of Tathra and their pets as well.
Ms Davis is currently collecting towels, sheets, blankets, non-perishable foodstuffs, sanitary items, bandages, syringes, eardrops, eyedrops and school materials.
