The Rural Fire Service Lake George Zone has advised that a Total Fire Ban is in force for Saturday 15 September, ahead of a dry, north-westerly wind.
All existing permits for fires are suspended for the duration of the Total Fire Ban, fires cannot be lit or maintained in the open, and there cannot be any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.
No general purpose hot works, such as welding or gas cutting can be done in the open and the RFS recommend not undertaking activities such as such using a tractor or slashing in order to help reduce the chance of sparking a fire.
