Organisers of the Braidwood Rodeo are looking forward to a big turnout again this Saturday.
The crowd was approximately 2000 people last year, and the event also raised $5,000 for the Cancer Council's Pink Ribbon campaign. Supporting the cause once more in 2019, competitors and spectators are all encouraged to wear pink and make a donation.
The rodeo itself is the final competitive event for points with the Southern Zone Rodeo Association, who will also hold their presentations on the Saturday night following the Braidwood Rodeo.

We're told that the entry lists looked pretty healthy too, and also included a group of ladies who will be raising money with a Ride for Charli in the ladies heifer event. Organised by Megan Chidgey, the group have entered so as to raise funds for the memorial of a Queanbeyan teenager named Charli Powell who sadly took her own life in February. Any extra will go towards campaigns to prevent suicide or violence against women.

Secretary of the Braidwood Rodeo Club, Louise Halligan, noted how much she admired their courage in more ways than one, describing heifer ride as a tough event that not everyone is prepared to enter.
After the rodeo, the presentation dinner and dance from 6.30pm on the Saturday evening involves a 2-course meal with rock/pop/country music band The Corbys playing from 8pm. Tickets will be available from the bar through the day.
The Braidwood Rodeo starts at 8am and the main events begin from noon.
