The men played in Giralang, taking on Belnorth Yellow and after a three-week break the fellas were keen for a kick.
A tight first 20 minutes saw an even contest with both teams managing shots on target. A corner kick to the back post gave Troy Clark a shot on goal and the keepers save fell to the feet of Ricky McCurley, who confidently tapped the ball in.
Up 1-0, Palerang began to control the midfield. Angus Weaver had a great game with assistance from Niall Ashby and Andrew Bray.
Half-time came and went with Palerang feeling confident of grabbing some points for the game.
With around 20 minutes to go Belnorth equalised after some loose marking and this sparked a frantic finish to the game.
George Benc and Troy Harrison were playing well through the midfield and after an attacking run from George from the edge of the goalbox, his shot was deflected from the keeper and Troy Harrison tapped in the winner. The final score was 2-1 and it was an awesome game with everyone in the playing group playing brilliantly.
Our women's team were depleted for a whole host of reasons and the Division Three girls took on the second-placed Weston in Mawson.
It was an awesome effort in the first half from our girls to play with nine players to be down only 1-0 at half-time.
However, the game descended into a goal-fest for Weston in the second half as fatigue took over and our girls struggled to keep their shape defensively.
It was a valiant effort, but resulted in a 7-0 loss. There were some positive signs for this team in the first half which will hopefully see them grab some points soon.
The Division Five girls took on Majura in Bungendore and an exciting game resulted.
Both teams had early shots on goal, but Lyndsey Mendham was awesome in goal for Palerang.
Majura managed to score first when our girls failed to clear the ball from the edge of our goalbox and a powerful strike on target saw them take the lead.
This sparked Palerang into action and an excellent corner from Kaitlyn Harrison allowed Nina Garcia to slam the ball into the goal and bring the scores level.
Around five minutes later, Emily Hanns put Palerang in front from a long-range shot on target.
Majura took control of the game for the following 10 minutes and managed to level the score again after another defensive error. Once again Palerang's determination saw them hit the lead after Kaitlyn Harrison fired a long shot on target and squeezed the ball between the keepers' outstretched hands and the cross bar to take the half-time score to 3-2.
A tense battle was played in the second half with both teams missing chances in front of goals. However, with around 15 minutes to go Majura again leveled the game after another mixup in front of goal.
A determined run by Logan Hunt from a cracking through ball from Emily Hanns saw Logan slot in the winner as Palerang closed out the match as the stronger of the two teams. It was an awesome game from the ladies and a sweet 4-3 win.
