The Rotary clubs of Bungendore and Ginninderra held a joint meeting and dinner on January 21 at the Braidwood Servicemens Club.
Members of the Braidwood Lions club were also in attendance. In total more than 40 people enjoyed the dinner.
Ginninderra Rotary member Barry Howe said the two clubs wanted to go to Braidwood to provide support and make a donation to the fire appeal.
The clubs raised $2000 towards the Rotary District to provide assistance throughout the region.
"Rotary is not a front line organisation but provides support," Mr Howe said.
A variety of speakers were present on the night to inform and entertain attendees.
Volunteer firefighter Brian Carl, who owns a property on Nerriga Road, spoke about his experience with the recent bushfires and how his home was spared.
Dennis and Carol McGrath spoke about the Blaze Aid organisation and their achievements in the region.
All in all it was a great night filled with friends, food and helped raise funds for the bushfire appeal.
