Mrs Stanbrook has been actively participating in the Cancer Council's Daffodil Day Appeal every year.
Despite being in lockdown and under strict COVID-19 restrictions, she found a unique way to show her support.
She created a video of her six-year-old daughter Eloise, who is learning from home due to current COVID-19 restrictions, making daffodils for Daffodil Day.
Daffodil Day means purchasing a bunch of fresh daffodils from a Cancer Council flagship stall to help fund world-class cancer research and show the support for people affected by cancer.
"Not everyone can go out and buy daffodils at this time when Covid restrictions are in place but we can create them at home and show our support," she said.
"The students are studying from home as we are in lockdown so I spoke with the school authorities and they were happy to go ahead with a tutorial on how daffodils can be made using things we find at home. I created this video for her school to show other students how to create daffodils.
"I decided to share the video with the community via social media as well so that anyone who wants to show their support can do that."
For Mrs Stanbrook, the cause is very close to her heart. Some of her family members have suffered from the deadly disease and survived while others lost the battle. Recently, she lost a very close friend to the disease.
"There are people dying from cancer annually and every little bit that we do matters. It would be amazing if we could do something for Daffodil Day. Everyone has toilet roll, they just need to get out there, create awareness and need to get behind the cause," she added.
Mrs Stanbrook is the owner of E&B Interiors Australia located in Canberra which deals with homewares, décor, furniture, candles and fragrances.
The Daffodil Day Appeal is in its 35th year and is Cancer Council's most iconic fundraising campaign. This year, Daffodil Day Appeal falls on Friday, August 27, 2021.
Meanwhile, Cancer Council is calling on the community to show their support for Daffodil Day Appeal.
